Installation of 15 stills from video footage filmed in the Baltic States between 2013 and 2025. Made for SPOOR Art Festival along the Groene 62, a trail on a former railway between Torhout and Ostend.

The landscape around the trail is the landscape of my hometown. It is flat. For a long time, I thought this was a problem. The world seemed small, sound never reflected the way it did in the mountains, and the light fell straight down from the sky. Estonia is flat too, yet the light is softer, the sky mirrors in the bogs, and the forests tell stories. I believe those stories exist in the cultivated, fragmented Flemish landscape as well. They are harder to perceive.
